The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has a reputation for generating world-class excitement when it comes to its New Year’s Eve headliners. Though its 10th anniversary doesn’t arrive until December 2020, the resort is welcoming the next decade with more incredible experiences. So, if you’re trying to coordinate the perfect evening, here is your guide to New Year’s Eve at The Cosmopolitan.
Take a DNA Test with Lizzo
On December 31, the “Truth Hurts” singer joins the list of iconic headliners who have taken The Chelsea stage on New Year’s Eve. Lizzo returns to The Cosmopolitan with another sellout less than three months after she sold out the venue for the penultimate stop on her 2019 “Cuz I Love You Too Tour.” Since then, she’s racked up a Soul Train Music Awards Video of the Year award for “Juice” and the Album/Mixtape of the Year award for “Cuz I Love You.” Lizzo is also heading into 2020 with eight Grammy Awards nominations, making her the show’s most-nominated artist, in categories that include Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
Ring in the 2020s Like It’s the 1920s
We can only imagine what the next decade will bring, but we’re crossing our fingers that it will have the fun level of the famed “Roaring Twenties.” If you’re one who loves to romanticize that era, you’ll want to join the Exclusive VIP New Year’s Eve Experience at The Ice Rink overlooking The Las Vegas Strip. A limited number of general admission tickets are on sale for this one-of-a-kind Prohibition-themed celebration, featuring 1920s themed music, décor, entertainment, and cocktails.
“It’s an experience nobody else can offer on the Strip,” explains The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Director of Special Events Mary Cabrera. “Where else can you be where you’ll feel the excitement of the fireworks above and the roar of the crowd below?”
The Exclusive VIP New Year’s Eve Experience features a three-hour open bar from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. with Veuve Clicquot, Hennessey, and Belvedere specialties, and you’re encouraged to “dress to impress in your 20s best.” That can mean the 1920s or 2020s, depending on your fashion sense.
Tickets to the Exclusive VIP New Year’s Eve Experience start at $250.
Or, Go Indoors for a Speakeasy-Style Celebration
The Cosmopolitan’s Barbershop serves as the resort’s salute to the speakeasies of yesteryear. Still, with The Ice Rink laying claim to the 1920s theme this year, the intimate bar and lounge is taking a modern approach to the festivities. Once you step behind the hidden door, you’ll be immersed in the music of Barbershop favorites Heavy Petting Zoo, along with DJ sets to help you ring in 2020. Tickets start at $75, or you can reserve a table for the evening.
Get Extra Mustard at Marquee
Dijon McFarlane may have chosen the DJ moniker Mustard as an homage to his first name, but in the years since he dropped his first mixtape, it’s become more evident that the name fits because he goes with everything. From YG to Playboy Carti to Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, and Ty Dolla $ign – collaborators are lining up to get Mustard on their tracks. At the same time, the 29-year-old has become one of Las Vegas’ most reliable headliners, and he’ll take the Marquee Nightclub stage once again on December 31. Mustard’s New Year’s Eve show caps a weekend of Marquee performances that begins with DJ Ruckus on December 27, with Eric D-Lux going behind the decks on December 30.
Tickets to Mustard at Marquee include two hours of a premium open bar and three hours of passed hors d’ oeuvres, as well as a champagne toast at midnight.
CliQue Your Heels During the Countdown
If your idea of the perfect New Year’s Eve involves cuddling on a couch, doing a little crowd watching, and raising a glass to the end of the 2010s, you’ll want to find your seat at CliQue Bar & Lounge. The Cosmopolitan’s premier destination for cocktails is hosting a party featuring a three-hour premium open bar, a live DJ, and a champagne toast at midnight.
Tickets start at $75, or you can make a table reservation and get some of Clique’s famed tableside beverage service while you watch the clock tick toward midnight.
So, where will you start when everything looks so good? Plan your New Year’s Eve and purchase tickets via The Cosmopolitan website.
